Star Plus postpones launch of ‘Anupamaa’ hours before telecast

Star Plus’ much awaited new series ‘Anupamaa’ has been halted in the eleventh hour, BizAsiaLive.com can confirm.

The show produced by Rajan Shahi, was expected to air from tonight at 21:00 (India) and 20:00 (UK). However, it seems the coronavirus pandemic has resulted in the show being delayed. In its place, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, helmed also by Shahi, will air in an extended 45-minute slot.

Shahi confirmed the developments. He said, “Yes, we are not launching Anupamaa today. We will air extended episodes of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai starting from today.”

Hotstar also confirmed the news. It tweeted, “Hi! The show launch is postponed for now. We will bring you more updates as soon as we have them. Appreciate your patience.”

Incidentally, the replacement of ‘Anupamaa’, ‘Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum’ ended its run on Saturday night, midst of much uproar from fans on the channel’s decision.
