Star Plus launches on cable in Netherlands

Star Plus has launched on UPC Nederland, the second largest cable operator in the Netherlands.

Star TV is synonymous with being the market leader in Hindi language content in multiple territories worldwide.

Star Plus is rated the number one Hindi Television channel by the UK’s official TV-audience measurement body BARB (Broadcaster�۪s Audience Research Board) and in India, by the official industry audience measurement body TAM (Television Audience Measurement).

A letter was sent by UPC in March 2011 informing their existing subscriber base that Star Plus was to replace SET Asia as of May 2011.

Commenting on the launch, Star�۪s Head of UK & European Business, Yeshpal Sharma stated, “The Netherlands is home to the second largest Hindi speaking population after the UK in Europe, and we are delighted to partner with leading cable operator UPC to reach this significant market.
