The UK’s first HD Asian channel, Star Plus HD, will have its viewing officially measured by BARB.
The standard definition of the channel, which is the UK’s most watched Hindi entertainment channel, will relay its broadcast in higher definition come Thursday 5th July. Star Plus and Star Plus HD will have combined viewing data from launch itself.
As revealed exclusively on BizAsia earlier, Star Plus HD will be available on the Sky Digital platform as part of Sky’s current HD pack – starting at 10 per month, on top of usual subscription costs.
According to Star TV UK, the soon-to-launch Star Plus HD will broadcast 1080i Native HD content, which means the channel uses HD cameras to capture true HD. Star Plus HD will also broadcast audio in 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound and widescreen 16:9 Aspect Ration as per industry standard.
