STAR Plus extends run of Kiran’s ‘Kachehri’

STAR Plus has renewed its current with the producers of ‘Aap Ki Kachehri – Kiran Ke Saath’ after a successful run.

Satisfied by the initial run of this Kiran Bedi hosted show, the channel has extended it by another 52 episodes. The show is among the five top-rated Hindi programmes, according to the latest data released by TAM Media Research.

Launched on 1st December 2008 (5th January 2009, in the UK), ‘Aap Ki Kachehri’ has 47 per cent viewership coming from a male audience. It has a 43 per cent audience share in the Hindi GEC markets of the North and has delivered a whopping 7.5 TVR average in Delhi.

Keertan Adyanthaya, executive vice-president and general manager, Star Plus, says, “At the time of launch of Aap Ki Kachehri, we went against the established ‘norms’ of what kind of show would work at this slot, but we strongly believed that as a nation we are ready to experiment with intellectual content set within the boundaries of our everyday lives.”

Keertan continues to explain as, “We are happy to say that our phone lines have not stopped ringing with people hoping that Kiran Bedi will be able to resolve their disputes ��� this along with the rising TRPs is proof that Star Plus has presented exactly the kind of show viewers were waiting for.”
