STAR Plus’ extends ‘Bidaai’ to one-hour

STAR Plus’ leading soap ‘Bidaai’, produced by Rajan Shahi will be extending from its current 30-minute duration to 60 minutes, according to TellyChakkar.

Rajan Shahi, confirmed the news and said, “The show will become an hour daily starting 13th October from 21:00 to 22:00 (in India). This will be for a limited period of time which is still not decided upon. This means double the responsibility and more pressure and expectations from the viewers. But we will work with full conviction as we have been doing till now. I consulted with my unit and the actors and only after getting their consent I gave my nod to the channel. I just pray that things run as smoothly as ever and I am positive as the next two months will focus on the highest point of the show.”

‘Bidaai’ will air between 21:00 – 22:00 in India, which means it will takeover the 21:30 slot once belonging to ‘Kasturi’. Fans of the latter show may breathe a sigh of relief as ‘Kasturi’ is only being shifted to another time slot (18:30) and not axed.

Whilst its not been confirmed why the changes are taking place, speculation is that STAR is hoping to grab viewers in the highly competitive 21:00 – 22:00 slot where it has taken a slight beating from rival Colors, whose show ‘Balika Vadhu’ has topped India’s latest ratings.

The change takes place in India from Monday 13th October. UK changes will be effective from early December.
