Star Plus confirms launch date for ‘Mad In India’

A new show on Star Plus ‘Mad In India’, featuring popular stand-up comedian, Sunil Grover will launch in mid-February, BizAsia can confirm.

Grover, renowned for playing Gutthi on ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’, will star in a show hosted by Manisha Paul and Dolly Ahluwalia.

Talking to PTI, Grover said, “We derived the name of our show from the term ��made in India�۪. Since it is a comedy show, so we made it ��Mad in India�۪. The main aim of it is to make people laugh. I am going to enjoy myself on the show as I will have many characters in it. It�۪s good that people in India have developed an appetite for such shows.”

The weekly comedy show will see Paul interview famous celebrities, with Grover interacting with them in different avatars.

Grover left ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ due to monetary issues. Colors then released a public notice warning Grover against reprising Gutthi on any other channel, saying the character was a property of the show.

‘Mad In India’ launches on Sunday 16th February at 21:00.
