STAR Plus becomes “distinct” leader

The TV ratings war in India continues, with STAR Plus widening the gap from rivals Colors and ZEE TV to become the distinct leader.

According to TAM Media Research for week 42, STAR Plus managed to separate itself from the current number two, Colors, with 99 points. Colors has been sitting comfortably at number two for the past four weeks after relegating ZEE TV to number three.

STAR Plus’ resurgence of points has been down to the extension of its number one show ‘Bidaai’ to 60 minutes at 21:00. Also the final episode of ‘Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii’ also aired in the same period. Furthermore ‘Nach Baliye’ has been delivering for the channel.

For the target C&S 4+ in the Hindi speaking markets, in week 42, STAR Plus has hit 323 GRPs. Colors is at 224 GRPs; ZEE TV has scored 201 GRPs; and Sony Entertainment Television Asia has garnered 103 GRPs. STAR One has 82 GRPs in the last week; NDTV Imagine has 77 GRPs; Sahara One has 57; and 9X is at 54 GRPs. SAB has 32 GRPs and ZEE Next has 3 GRPs.
