Star TV has announced the launch of its new show to be hosted by Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan.

Details of the new show have been kept under wraps but Shankar did say that it is not a reality show and neither is it a fiction. The channel said it is “a real show about real people.” Aamir Khan said that at times the show will be based in a studio set and other times on location.

Aamir Khan added, “What excites me about television is its power and reach, its enormous potential to connect with people. And no other platform that Star India could be better to get associated with. The show is going to be about the real life. It۪s a personal journey for me.”

“We want to redefine the entertainment space with the show. The show will take the entertainment to the engagement level. The show will be simulcast in regional languages besides Hindi and English,” says Star India CEO Uday Shankar.

The TV show will be produced by Aamir Khan’s own production house – Aamir Khan Productions. It is expected to go on-air in early 2012.

Unlike Hrithik Roshan’s stint on ‘Just Dance’, Aamir Khan said he was concentrating wholly on his new TV show without any clashes with his film shoots. He also said that his upcoming film with Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee, ‘Dhuaan’ will now release on Friday 1st June (postponed from January 2012). After he completes the Star Plus show, he will commence shooting on ‘Dhoom 3’ produced by Yash Raj Films.
