Star Plus acquires international show ‘Survivor’

Star Plus has acquired the format of the American show ‘Survivor’ for its Indian audiences.

The Miditech produced reality TV show is about being able to survive tough physical and psychological challenges on an island for about 47 days. Each episode votes out one participant and the winner gets the prize money. The complex social interplay between the diverse competitors, who often have to cooperate with each other, has captured the imagination of audiences worldwide.

Monica Sheirgill, senior creative director, Star Plus said, “It۪s the granddaddy of all reality shows. I can proudly say that it۪s being produced for my channel. We۪re looking for the right mix of contestants and a fabulous host right now.”

The show, which will be renamed to something desi will be launched after the ‘Indian Premier League’ in late spring/early summer on Star Plus.
