Star Parivaar Awards helps Star Plus beat Sky 1

The Star Parivaar Awards, which were aired on Star Plus UK last weekend have helped beat the likes of Sky 1, E4 and Comedy Central in the ratings, according to BARB.

The awards were telecast on Sunday 3rd April and bolstered Star Plus’ viewership by being rated the most watched pay channel and the 12th most watched channel between 20:00 – 23:30 amongst all BARB rated channels in the UK.

Star Plus introduced the Star Parivaar Awards as an exclusive 100% homegrown awards property in 2003 as the first ever-official recognition for the creative television community. Over the years, Star Parivaar has grown to be the biggest and the most eagerly anticipated awards in the Hindi entertainment space.

Earlier this year, Star Gold was officially declared as the third most watched movie channel in the UK, behind English channels Film4 and Sky Movies Showcase (for early-January 2011 data).
