Star Network halts launch of five channels in India

Star India has postponed the launch of five channels indefinitely.

Whilst the reason of the decision was not disclosed, it is believed that a downturn in advertising revenue amongst broadcasters due to coronavirus is to be blamed.

The broadcaster was set to launch Vijay Music, Star Sports 3 HD, Star Gold 2 HD, Star Movies Select and Disney Channel HD on 1st February (Disney Channel HD on 1st March) but these have now been put on hold.

A notice to distribution platforms confirmed the same but without any reason.
