Star Network buys ‘Ra.One’ for Rs. 350 million

Star TV Network has reportedly spent an astronomical Rs. 350 million to acquire the rights of this year’s much awaited sci-fi thriller – ‘Ra.One’ starring Bollywood favourite, Shah Rukh Khan.

The film’s music has been awarded to record giant T-Series for a whopping Rs. 150 million.

Both Star India and T-Series have bought the rights from Eros International, the pure play movie studio.

‘Ra.One’ releases at cinemas at Diwali this year. Shah Rukh Khan has produced the movie, with direction by Anubhav Sinha. The film also stars Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Ramapal. The music contains a track called ‘Chamak Chalo’ sung by American rapper Akon.

Star TV recently has acquired the rights of many upcoming movies including ‘Rockstar’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, ‘Singam’ with Ajay Devgn and ‘Bodyguard’ starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor.
