Bengali entertainment channel, Star Jalsha has begun full video and audio tests ahead of its launch later this month.

The channel is more than likely to replace ABP News – which is set for closure in the UK after its deal ended with Star TV UK.

Star Jalsha will be the network’s first ever regional language channel in the UK market – it will join the likes of Star Plus, Star Plus HD, Star Gold and Star Life Ok.

Star Jalsha is rumoured to launch on Thursday 22nd November – the expected departure date for ABP News UK.

It is yet unclear whether Star Jalsha will be available as part of Sky’s monthly package or free-to-air.

Star TV UK is set to make an announcement on the developments imminently.
