Star Jalsha has always been appreciated by its viewers for weaving stories that touch the emotional chord of Bengali audiences and resonate with our rich cultural traditions. As the whiff of the upcoming Pujo starts wafting into our homes, Star Jalsha launches its new show ‘Bajlo Tomar Alor Benu’ on Monday 20th August to usher in the festive feeling.

The show is an inspiring story of a talented girl who makes a name for herself in the profession of idol making. Given that the festival celebrates the feminine divinity and spirit, it is ironic that the profession is largely male dominated. Against this backdrop, orphan Minu is being adopted and raised by the famous idol maker Kalikrishna who discovers her love for sculpting and idol making. He gives her shelter, mentors her and supports her in nurturing her dream. The show will chart Minu’s inspiring journey of overcoming many hurdles – both personal and professional in fulfilling her dream through an uplifting story of love, dedication, sacrifice and hard work.

The lead character of Minu is being played by Shyamoupti Mudly, while Kalikrishna’s role is being essayed by Sanjeev Dasgupta. The show hosts many popular artists from the television and theatre world like Kushal Chakraborty, Arjun Chakraborty, Deboleena Dutta, Anushree Das, and Bhashwar Chatterjee in different roles.

The show comes from the house of Agnidev Chatterjee Productions. Agnidev Chatterjee is the producer and director of the show. “This show is very close to my heart. I am extremely excited to work on such an uplifting story on such a popular platform of Star Jalsha. We have put in a lot of passion into putting this show together and are hopeful that our audiences will find it interesting” says Agnidev.

Sudipa Chatterjee is the screenplay and dialogue writer for this show. “This is a story that I have been wanting to tell for a long time. I believe that Minu shall convey a very strong and inspiring message to a large section of women who are striving to create their identity, despite all odds.” – says Sudipa Chatterjee.

“We have created many iconic women characters who have inspired our audiences to dream and aspire. Minu is a truly inspirational character. Art resides in the heart of every Bengali and I am sure that Minu’s artistic journey will be a heartwarming experience for our viewers.” said the channel’s spokesperson.
