Star Bharat to revive ‘Akbar Birbal’ as a part of new plans

With Star Bharat in revamp mode, it has been reported that the channel is bringing back the cult-series ‘Akbar Birbal’ with a modern twist.

The show will be helmed by Nikhil Sinha, who has impressed with period dramas and mythologicals like ‘Devon Ke Dev Mahadev’, ‘Siya Ke Ram’, ‘Hatim’ and ‘Prem ya paheli – Chandrakanta’.

TellyChakkar reports that Sinha is on the hunt for a fresh cast. However, it does seem like Sumit Arora, who starred in the original will return for the new series.
