Star Bharat’s longest running series ‘Nimki Mukhiya’, chronicled Nimki’s journey from a fun-loving and carefree girl to a feisty and matured woman who goes on to make a difference to her small village. It depicted how she defied societal norms and became a Mukhiya. Now, the channel is back with a mega second season titled ‘Nimki Vidhayak’, where the series focuses on how Nimki (played by Bhumika Gurung) becomes a Vidhayak (MLA) and strives to make a difference in the complicated world of politics.
The second series presents a path breaking leap from the previous season as it showcases an independent female MLA’s journey in the murky political arena of Patna. Nimki’s battle against injustice, how she emerges triumphant in a largely male-dominated world of politics and her relentless fight for women’s successful participation in politics is the core theme. There is no dearth of Nimki style action in her signature dabang style as she fights her challenges whilst the plot gets thicker as she finally attracts true love, but finds it difficult to embrace it due to her past.
Zama Habib, the show’s writer-producer, says, “Our audiences love Nimki Mukhiya and her popularity has gained immense momentum over the last season. Woman believe in her character and this has inspired us to work on a bold new avatar of Nimki Vidhayak who is all set to take the world by storm in the political arena. Through her journey, the story strives towards spreading the message on women’s active and successful role in politics. We have also widened our star cast for season 2 and am sure our audiences will love every moment.”
He adds, “As a writer and a producer, I feel it is my responsibility to not only provide engaging content to viewers but also ask pertinent questions. Nimki Mukhiya was hailed for being different from the kind of shows that are being aired on television. Once again, we have strived to make a difference.”
‘Nimki Vidhayak’ promises to enthrall audiences by taking them on a journey filled with drama, comedy and romance supported by a very strong message that binds the show. It will not only entertain viewers but will also raise the bar this season by focusing on the cause of equal representation of men and women in legislation. Nimki will now be seen – not only as a woman who strives for participation in politics but her character also serves as the perfect role model for women across the country as she traverses her journey from being the Mukhiya of a village to a Vidhayak.
Joining Bhumika Gurung in the lead role will be Abhishek Sharma, Shriya Jha, Priyanshu Singh amongst others.
‘Nimki Vidhayak’ launches on Monday 12th August at 20:30.
