Stan Lee is responsible for creating a number of Hollywood superheros including Hulk and Spiderman. Now, he’s also created the superhero, Chakra, who is the main feature of Vikramaditya Motwane’s film.

An insider told Hindustan Times, “Vikramaditya is currently working on the screenplay of the film with Lee and Sharad Devarajan, who is the creative partner on the project. The film version of Chakra will feature an older version of the character in his twenties, set against the backdrop of Mumbai”.

Lee also spoke about the creation, “I۪m a fan of Bollywood films, and I am excited about launching Chakra as my first Bollywood superhero movie. Vikramaditya is an amazingly talented film-maker, who I know can make the film a massive hit in India, and around the world”.

Motwane went on to add, “It۪s an honour, and an absolute delight to be making a film based on a Stan Lee character. We are very excited, and we hope to take comic book film-making to the next level with Chakra”.

Motwane’s last directorial was ‘Lootera’ in 2013.
