SRK: “When I came to Mumbai, I had lost everything in my life”

Shah Rukh Khan recently spoke on the darker periods of his life, such as when he had initially arrived in Mumbai with without parents, money, or a house.

Khan’s journey from being an outsider to becoming established Bollywood star is the literal embodiment of the ‘rags to riches’ phrase, having endured homelessness and poverty while trying to find meaningful work in the film industry.

Speaking on the matter, Khan reflected during a meet-and-greet with fans, “I was very fortunate and unfortunate too because when I came to Mumbai to work I had lost everything in my life, my parents, money and I had a sister, who was rather unwell and I had just got married and had no house. So I couldn’t think anything could be worse than this.”

Continuing, Khan stated, “I felt, whatever happens, will be good only. In a strange way, the negativity in my life made me feel that nothing bad will happen. I never thought I would lose anything”.
