SRK was doubtful when he first heard ‘Fan’ script

Shah Rukh Khan srk

Maneesh Sharma’s next big release will be ‘Fan’ starring Shah Rukh Khan in a double role. With the first official trailer already having audiences pumped up for the film, there’s already much talk as to how good it all looks. However, news has it that when he first heard the script many years ago, Khan was unsure about how well it would all work.

Sharma apparently approached the actor around 8 years ago. Talking about his first hearing,NDTV reported Khan explain, “When Maneesh told me about this story for the first time, I thought it is very difficult to make as it was not a double role, but a lookalike. At that time, neither the technology was so developed nor we were mature enough to think and do something creative.”

“Neither the technology was so developed nor were we mature enough to think and do something creative with it. I still remember I was dubbing for ‘Chennai Express’ (2013) when I met Maneesh and then we decided to go ahead with this story as till then we had the required technology,” the actor went on to add.

Khan also talked about there being much debate how the film would be made, and it was very near to not happening. However, with a supportive producer and dedicated director everything worked out. “But it was Adi (producer Aditya Chopra), Maneesh and the whole team who decided to go ahead even then. I think it’s a very big step forward to take a chance like that,” Khan said.

The film will see Khan playing a character reflecting his own self as a superstar actor named Aryan Khanna, and also an obsessive super fan names Gaurav. ‘Fan’ is set for release on 15th April
