SRK-SLB meet to discuss Sahir Ludhianvi film?

BizAsiaLive.com reported in November that Sanjay Leela Bhansali was looking to rope in Shah Rukh Khan for his film about poet Sahir Ludhianvi, reportedly to be titled ‘Gustaakhiyaan’. Now, it seems Khan may well sign on the dotted line soon after the duo had a meeting recently.

“Bhansali and SRK met late one night last week and the filmmaker handed over the complete script of the biopic to SRK, telling him that he would like to direct him in 2018,” revealed a source to Ahmedabad Mirror. “There is a lot of poetry in the film and SRK has been reading Sahir’s ghazals and nazms”.

Sources close to Khan said that he loved the script, “Bhansali and SRK have been spending a lot of time together lately, discussing work and cinema”.

Ludhianvi was a poet who passed away at 59 and the film is expected to follow his relationship with poet-novelist Amrita Pritam. There have been many names come up in the last few months in terms of the cast. It seems Priyanka Chopra is to hear the script too while she’s in Mumbai. No doubt it would be interesting to see Khan and Chopra reunite once more on the big screen.
