Shah Rukh Khan has been honoured at this year’s World Economic Forum 2018, taking place in Davos. The actor received the 24th Crystal Award for “his leadership in championing children’s and women’s rights in India”.
“I am genuinely and deeply grateful for this honour. It is indeed a privilege to be in the company of two phenomenal and extraordinary human beings and talent, Cate Blanchett and Sir Elton John,” said Khan, according to Hindustan Times.
Khan is the founder of the Meer Foundation, a non-profit organisation which gives support to females who have suffered from acid attacks and other burns, giving them the appropriate medical treatment and rehabilitation.
