A while back BizAsia reported that Yash Chopra would be shooting his as yet untitled venture in the valleys of Kashmir. The latest on the much touted film is that SRK-Katrina will now shoot the climax of the film in Ladakh instead.
Ladakh is one of the most sparsely populated regions of Jammu and Kashmir and lies between the Kunlun mountain range and the Himalayas. Shah Rukh Khan has shot in the area before for Mani Ratnam۪s Dil Se۪ over a decade ago in 1998, and it was he who suggested the location to the senior director.
“Yashji loves the snow in Kashmir and has shot two of his most romantic films, ‘Daag’ and ‘Kabhi Kabhie’, there. They need a snow-capped landscape for the climax. Hence, initially, he contemplated shooting in Kashmir, said a source to the Mumbai Mirror.
However, it seems SRK۪s suggestion has been taken on board and the crew will now shoot in Ladakh, with an official Yash Raj Films spokesperson confirming the news too.
A love story which marks the return of Chopra to direction after nearly eight years sees Khan pair up with Katrina Kaif for the first time. It also stars Anushka Sharma with Rishi and Neetu Kapoor in cameos and releases this Diwali.
