Before he stormed onto the big screen over two decades ago, mega star Shah Rukh Khan acted in a number of small screen TV shows. Working his way up to stardom, the actor is proud of having entered the Indian Film Industry without any sort of film making background.

Recently having celebrated his 49th Birthday, NDTVreported the actor explaining, “I feel proud about the fact that I am an outsider. This industry has been harsh at times and at times it loves you and at times it punishes you. There are a lot of people responsible for who I am today. I don’t think I can ever play character Shah Rukh Khan in any film because I don’t think my personal life is so important. I think I am too small a person and have a long way to go.”

It’s no secret that Khan had struggles of his own and his fair share of failures throughout his career. With more and more fresh faces attempting to make their mark within the industry Khan had a few words of wisdom to share with them. “Nobody becomes an actor by planning things. Don’t focus on your clothes or make-up. Focus on your acting,” he went onto say.

With the success of his recent release ‘Happy New Year’ (2014) still reaching new heights, Khan isn’t stopping for a rest any time soon. The actor will next be seen opposite Ileana D’Cruz in ‘Fan’ and a Rahul Dholakia directorial titled ‘Raees’ thereafter.

Directed by Maneesh Sharma, ‘Fan’ is set to hit the silver screens in August next year.
