SRK entices South actress Priyamani for ‘Chennai Express’

Shah Rukh Khan has always been very kind to newcomers. One need only look at Deepika Padukone in ‘Om Shanti Om’ (2007). It seems Khan has become mentor to South cinema actress Priyamani who will be seen in a special appearance in ‘Chennai Express’.

Rohit Shetty’s film which will be Khan and Padukone come together again will have Priyamani turn item girl. The actress is quoted by Asian Age talking about the role, “Yes, it�۪s true that I will be doing an item number for Chennai Express. I consider myself extremely lucky to have someone like Shah Rukh give me such a huge break”.

Although being fully aware of the competition that comes with Hindi cinema, the 28-year-old believes she still needs to prove herself. She said, “I don�۪t want to think of the outcome right now. I only want to ensure that I do my best. The rest, I am going to leave it to luck”.

Will Priyamani prove to be Khan’s lucky mascot? Let’s hope so. ‘Chennai Express’ is expected to reach completion in April.
