When Rohit Shetty announced that he would have Shah Rukh Khan in his next movie, following on from the success of 2013’s ‘Chennai Express’, many rumours have been associated with the film. However, Khan has recently confirmed that, despite the speculation, the film is definitely not a remake.

Reports suggested that Shetty was making a film which would be a cross between ‘Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi’ (1958) and ‘Hum’ (1991). Khan, in a recent interview, rubbished any similarity to any other film, “No, first I read it was a remake of Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi۪, then Hum۪ and later Amar Akbar Anthony۪! Let me tell you it is none of these. In fact the narration that I have got, I haven۪t heard or seen anything like it before. It۪s a populist happy film but original”.

There have also been rumours that Shetty is hoping to bring Khan together with his much-loved co-star Kajol in the film which would definitely be a casting coup.

Khan has a somewhat packed plate at the moment with Maneesh Sharma’s ‘Fan’ as well as Rahul Dholakia’s ‘Raees’. He is also soon to be making his return on the small screen.
