A few months ago,BizAsia had reported that Deepika Padukone was apparently being considered for the lead role in Sriram Raghavan’s next film, which is an adaptation of Vikas Swarup’s novel, ‘The Accidental Apprentice’. Raghavan has now confirmed the news of having approached the actress.
Speaking toMumbai Mirror, the filmmaker said, “I had sounded her out, vaguely. I’ll take the final draft to her and if she likes it, we’ll take it forward.Since the girl is the main protagonist, I need my heroine before I decide on the rest of the cast.”
Raghavan is currently busy promoting ‘Badlapur’, which releases 20th February. Once the Varun Dhawan starrer has released, the filmmaker will shift focus to ‘The Accidental Apprentice’.
