Sridevi won over many hearts with her comeback film, Gauri Shinde’s, ‘English Vinglish’ (2012). Five years later, the sequel to the successful film is reportedly on the cards, and both she and Shinde are ready to take the story forward.
Pinkvilla reports an source saying, “Sridevi indicated that a collaboration is in the offing when the film completed five years last month. She shared a picture of Gauri and her, and wrote, “Coming soon”. They were supposed to come together for a women centric light-hearted comedy earlier, but the story was not fully developed. So, they shifted their focus to the sequel. Sridevi takes her time mulling over scripts and selecting them, which is why her second innings has been only two films, but both of them critically and commercially acclaimed at that. She might do a cameo in Janhvi’s debut but her next project will be with Gauri. The film will kick off sometime early next year.”
Shinde last directed Shah Rukh Khan-Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Dear Zindagi’ (2016).
