Sridevi against daughter having acting career?

The beautiful Sridevi recently surprised an audience – and in particular a specific participant – in Aamir Khan’s ‘Satyamev Jayate’. The actress is set to make a comeback to the big screen with the film ‘English Vinglish’ produced by R Balki. However, as she makes a return,��she��has��gone on record to say that she doesn’t want her daughter, Jahnavi, to follow in her footsteps.

In an interview with Times of India, she reveals, “I don’t want her to do anything at this point besides focusing on her studies. Jahnavi is just 15 and doing well in school. I’m happy with that. She’s too young to do films… In fact, I don’t want her to become an actor.” She went on to say that she wants Jahnavi to complete her studies before deciding on anything��else.

It has also been reported that Sridevi wants her daughter to lose weight but she clarifies, “Jahnavi is health conscious, like me. I’m extremely careful about my diet and workout, and she follows me. In fact, I play tennis with both my daughters twice a week”.

Talking about ‘English Vinglish’ being her comeback, she comments, “I��never decide or plan things. I would have grabbed English Vinglish��if the script had come to me even five or 10 years ago. I didn’t plan this as my comeback film. It just happened.”

‘English Vinglish’, as described by Sridevi, is more than just about a housewife learning English. She says the character is taken away from everything she’s used to and she has to face new challenges and, at the same time, her family have to deal with life without her.
