Spotlight: Independence Day special shows

To celebrate the 60th Independence Day of Pakistan and India, Asian TV and radio channels will broadcasting special shows. As every year, BizAsia.co.uk brings you a guide of what you can expect in the run up to Tuesday 14th August and Wednesday 15th August.

Super Kidz Funda – An Independence Day Special for kids of all ages that will invite them to experience and appreciate freedom. 12th, 13th and 14th August at 17:05.

Pehla Pehr ��� The morning show to which the entire continent wakes up will have an Independence Day theme featuring special guests and topics of relevance. 13th and 14th August at 08:30.

Marina Mornings – The Morning show seen across the globe with the ever so energetic and vivacious Marina Khan brings focuses on what Independence Day means to the Pakistani nation featuring special guests. 13th and 14th August at 09:05.

Loose Talk ��� A comedy show guaranteed to satisfy appetite for every sense of humour represents Independence Day related issues in a light and comic manner. 12th August at 19:05.

Main Bhi Pakistan Hoon ��� This discussion show will feature 4 participants representing the masses and a famous personality. Issues will be reviewed considering each point of view. 13th and 14th August at 19:05.

Ek Safar ��� Pakistan ��� A four part documentary highlighting Pakistan�۪s performance in the areas of Sports, Economics & Business, Politics and Media. Achievers through history in these fields will be highlighted to identify their roles. Each documentary will trace Pakistan�۪s standing and position from 1947 to date. 11th August 5.30pm BST 12th, 13th and 14th at 18:30.

Ek aur Pehloo ��� A special discussion program that talks about what we have become and where we stand in the 60 years of independence in terms of Patriotism, Education and Health. 12th August at 22:00.

Yeh Bhi Pakistani Hai ��� After 60 years of independence Noor is looking for a Pakistani who still believes in the ideology of Pakistan and concept of separate country for the Muslim of subcontinent. Noor thinks that this Pakistani faith might have changed with the passage of time. Is today�۪s Pakistan what they dreamed for? 14th August at 19:30.

Rang-e-Pakistan (Colors of Four Provinces) ��� a concert featuring Shafqat Amanat; Abrar-ul-Haq; Shehzad Roy; Strings; Humera Arshad; Fakhir; Haroon; Rahim Shah; Arif Lohar; Annie; Rabi Pirzada, Shazia Khushk, Mona Lisa. Faisal Qureshi, Nirma, Moamar Rana, Resham, Saud, Nighat Chaudhry and Faisal Qazi. Travel through the famous patriotic songs of each era presented along with theme based performances by these artists in the country. 13th August at 22:00.

Dil Se Dil ��� Boundaries can divide nations, not humans. In an exceptional gesture of camaraderie, ARY Digital rises above antagonism and goes beyond boundaries not only to celebrate our Independence Day, but also to congratulate our Indian neighbors on theirs. The show boasts of the best in fashion, cinema, and music from Pakistan and India at Wahga Border. 14th August at 23:00.

Ghonsla ��� A heart rendering telefilm directed by Ahson Talish starring Nabeel; Javeria Abbasi & many more. 11th August at 22:00.

Subha ki Dastak – An enlightening play of Independence Day; a historical recap over the Formation of Pakistan in the most artistic way. It will take the youth back in time to a Village which is yet to be declared as part of India or Pakistan. The play will spin around two Muslim brothers as each of them is an active member of Muslim League and Congress and wish to have the village parted in their favor. This special play will not just educate youth about the issues faced by an individual state or tribe prior to Formation of Pakistan but will also highlight the culture and nationalism amongst the villagers. Yun Di Humain Azadi – A beautifully written special play of Independence Day by the most renowned writer of our nation Anwar Maqsood. He enlightens about his tenure of 60 years with Pakistan from October 1948, the day he arrived in Karachi with his family and as a child had an innocent dialogue with his Mother about this land, connecting with that conversation and activating the thought-process, this play is to bring an emotional state of patriotism in every Pakistani. This will showcase the results of what eminent jurists like Abdul Kalam and Amitabh Bachchan along with the people of India have chosen on nine topics – the icon of India, worst shame, greatest pride, political blot, best sports person, best film, best song, India Abroad USP and one thing/event that changed India.

This one hour show will bring together politicians, soldiers, artistes and ordinary people from both sides of the border. The show will be anchored by Barkha Dutt from Dubai and an anchor from Pakistan, live in Dubai, Islamabad and New Delhi.
