Spoiler: Winner crowned in STAR Plus’ ‘Muqqabla’

Singer and musician, Shankar Mahadevan has crowned the ‘Muqqabla’ King on STAR Plus’ reality show, which concluded last night.

The finale of ‘Music Ka Maha Muqqabla’ saw team ‘Shankar’s Rockstars’ consisting of Rahul Vaidya, Sharib Sabri, Sanjeev Kumar and Neetii Muhan, beat ‘Shaan’s Strikers’. Shaan’s team compromised of Harshit Saxena, Anweshaa Dutta Gupta, Debojit Saha and Shadab Faridi.

In the beginning, the competition included five teams but eliminations stages were introduced in later weeks. Other leading singers and composers, who lost out in the race, were Mika, Himesh Reshammiya, Mohit Chauhan and Shreya Ghosal.

The grand finale was held at the BPCL Ground in Chembur in Mumbai. It was shown live on STAR Plus India (and will be telecast on STAR Plus UK in early April). Legendary Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan presented the winners’ trophy and a cheque worth Rs 50 lakh to ‘Shankar’s Rockstars’.
