Southall restaurant Brilliant to close its doors after 50 years of trading
The iconic Indian restaurant, Brilliant, based in Southall, will be closing its doors next month after an impressive 50-year run.
Founded in 1975 by Gulu Anand, Brilliant will officially close on 7th April. However, before its closure, the restaurant will host a special farewell evening with an exclusive set-menu dinner on 4th April 2025, offering guests a memorable final experience.
The Brilliant brand was originally established by Bishen Dass Anand in the 1950s. Its first venture was a combined restaurant, nightclub, and hotel in Kenya, followed by the launch of a successful catering business.
In exciting news, Gulu and his daughter, Dipna Anand, will be launching a new venture, Brilliant Gastro, set to open in mid-April at Southall’s The Green Quarter.
