South Asia World to cease broadcasts

South Asia World is ceasing broadcast from midnight tomorrow.

South Asia World was initially launched by Television Eighteen founder Ravi Bahl in the US two years ago. The channel was then launched in the UK on Sky Digital in June 2005 by ZEE Network.

According to ZEE Network officials, the channel’s US feed is being discontinued which will also result in the UK channel ceasing broadcasts at the same time.

South Asia World has relayed sister station CNN IBN from India for the past year. There are no immediate plans to launch CNN IBN independently in the UK.

ZEE Network will retain the vacant slot of 512 on Sky Digital to launch its next channel – details here on BizAsia.co.uk exclusively first and fastest as always.
