South Asia World launches on Sky EPG

The latest addition to the fast growing of Asian TV channels in the UK is South Asia World. Broadcasting live from India and the US, the channel is the world?s first English-language channel dedicated to South Asians all over the world. It carries news and views from India and the subcontinent, and it also includes local coverage of the South Asian community in the United States as well as in the UK.

South Asia World was launched by India World Network USA Inc. and has operational arrangements with Television Eighteen India Limited (TV18), a company founded by Raghav Bahl. TV18 runs and manages CNBC-TV18 , India ‘s leading business news channel. South Asia World draws from TV18’s world-class production and broadcast experience.

South Asia World covers politics, sports, entertainment, business and the arts. It is first with the news that concerns South-Asians, produced by a team of professional, experienced journalists from around the world. South Asia World will also keep the community in touch with their traditions and culture, with the latest happenings in Bollywood, and the latest in Cricket.

South Asia World launched in the US last December and has generated an overwhelming response from viewers, it can now be viewed on Sky Digital channel 540. The channel will air free until the end of June before encrypting in July.

South Asia World will be distributed with the other five ZEE channels (ZEE TV, Music, Cinema, Punjabi and Gujarati) in July. Pricing for the channel will be released in the next few days.
