‘Sooryavanshi’ delayed again due to spike in coronavirus cases in India?

Akshay Kumar’s much delayed upcoming film ‘Sooryavanshi’ has been awaiting a release since its trailer was unleashed last year. However, due to the pandemic, the film was put on hold.

A few weeks ago, rumours surfaced that the film could hit cinemas in April after the Central Government permitted 100% occupancy in cinemas. However, it now seems, the sudden rise in coronavirus cases in India, has resulted in a further delay to the film.

A source was cited in Box Office Worldwide saying, “It’s going to be a wait and watch situation. Everybody in the Sooryavanshi team and even the whole industry is hoping that the cases would reduce. If that happens, the Maharashtra government won’t add curbs and would also pave the way for 100% occupancy in cinemas. A clear scenario would emerge by early next week. The makers want to release the movie in the maximum screens and shows with 100% permissible occupancy.”
