Sooraj Pancholi’s films continue to fall through?

Since ‘Hero’ (2015) Sooraj Pancholi hasn’t has much luck in securing another film. Rumours were doing the rounds that Salman Khan who launched the actor was planning to do another film, but these claims have been dismissed.

According to Asian Age, Khan was apparently thinking of casting Pancholi in his next production, a remake of Puri Jagannath’s Telugu hit ‘Rogue’ (2017), but a close source to Khan said this was untrue. “These are all false rumours. As far as Salman was concerned, he kept his word of launching Sooraj in Hero. That was it. There was no talk of any more films with Sooraj.”

Many films had been lined up, such as an action-romance by Kumar Mangat Pathak and a dance-action film by Remo d’Souza, starring Ajay Devgn, but for one reason or another they never materialised.

One filmmaker who is keen to re-launch Pancholi, said that due to the actor being overshadowed by the controversies when he made his debut, hasn’t helped Pancholi develop his career. “The boy was given no fair deal. His debut was ridden with controversies after his then girlfriend Jiah Khan committed suicide and he had to prove himself.”

He continued to say that Pancholi making his debut in ‘Hero’ (2015) was also a bad idea. “No debutant should touch a classic. Jackie Shroff is considered an icon for the original Hero and even his son Tiger refused to act in the remake. It’s a terrible beginning for Sooraj. Thereafter no production house is willing to back any project with him.”
