Therelease of his Bollywood debut, ‘Hero’, is just around the corner, but Sooraj Pancholi has been making headlines since before signing the movie. Having been wrappedin controversies post his girlfriend Jiah Khan’s suicide in 2013, Pancholi has broken his silence and gone on record to speakabout the same.

On being questioned about Khan’s suicide and the controversies which followed, Pancholi toldThe Indian Express, “It was in nobody’s control. People didn’t realise that I had lost someone. I lost my girlfriend (Jiah) who I was seeing for the past few months and I was really upset. But I think it was destiny… I don’t think of it as a lesson because I have not committed any mistake.”

Pancholi is grateful to superstar Salman Khan for having supported him through the tough times and launching him as a leading actor with ‘Hero’.

“The reason I love him (Salman Khan) so much is because if it hadn’t been for him or his support, I would still be struggling… this industry throws you away during such times. He hasn’t done that and has kept me close to his heart,” the young actor added.

‘Hero’ is a remake of Subhash Ghai’s classic of the same name. The remake has been produced by Salman Khan Films and directed by Nikhil Advani. Suniel Shetty’s daughter, Athiya Shetty, also makes her debut with the film which releases on September 11th.
