Sony’s Deal Ya No Deal in major changes

Sony TV’s Deal Ya No Deal gameshow, which launched with much fanfare a few months ago will be undergoing several changes with yet another new anchor and being dropped to a weekly.

Mandira Bedi who stepped into the shoes of R Madhavan as the show’s presenter filmed her final episodes over the weekend and will concentrate on her work for sister channel MAX on its cricket show Extraaa Innings.

But why is Bedi, who came in only two-and-a-half months back, being replaced? Mandira is our main presenter on Extraaa Innings, on Set Max. From June, we will need her for that purpose. We decided that we should not devalue her equity,۝ says Mandloi.

Says Mandira, speaking from Goa, for the India-England ODI, Once Deal Ya No Deal becomes a weekly, it will not be shot in the present style of building and storing a bank of episodes. Unlike now, when the schedules are spaced with long gaps in between, the shooting will be done at short, regular intervals. So, if I am travelling with the cricket team, it will not be possible for me to do the show.۝
