Sony’s cheeky move: Filmfares clash with ZCA’s

Sony Entertainment Television Asia has come up with a strategic move to lure Bollywood fans away from its opposition ZEE this weekend.

The channel has cancelled its Bollywood movie My Brother Nikhil, which was scheduled for this Saturday night. Instead Sony TV will now repeat telecast last weekend’s Filmfare Awards to compete with ZEE Network’s ZEE Cine Awards, at the same time.

The Filmfares saw dazzling performances by Madhuri Dixit, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. Another reason why Sony TV has re-scheduled the Filmfares is also because a technical fault last weekend resulted in a commercial break interrupting Abhishek Bachchan’s performance.

The ZEE Cine Awards has lined up appearances from the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta, amongst many others.

The ZEE Cine Awards will be shown deferred live from Mauritius. The event will precede with the Red Carpet Event at 20:00, followed by the main event. The ZEE Cine Awards will be shown on ZEE TV, with a repeat on ZEE Cinema in April.

Now the big question asked here would inevitably be – who will win the award for best film awards? ZEE Cine Awards or Filmfares? You decide!
