Sony TV to launch two new reality shows

Sony Entertainment Television Asia is doing what it knows best – launching even more reality TV shows!

Shows in the past like ‘Indian Idol’, ‘Fame Gurukul’, ‘Bigg Boss’ and ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’ have delivered good ratings for the channel and its set to continue with the winning formula by adding two new reality programmes.

The two new reality shows ‘K for Kishore’ and ‘Chaal Baaz No.1’ are geared to hit the channel after the current run of ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’.

‘K for Kishore’ is a production of Meditech and is pitted in the same time slot as that of ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’.

“K for Kishore is another singing reality show. There are going to be auditions in cities and a few will be short-listed. All the contenders in the show will be singing Kishoreda songs,” informs a TellyChakkar source.

Playback singer and a big Kishore Kumar fan, Babul Supriyo is the host whereas Bappi Lahiri and Sudesh Bhosle have been roped in as judges. The show will go on air from Friday 21st December.

Endemol produced show ‘Chaal Baaz No.1’ is also launching on the same weekend. “All 33 contestants in the show have to play pranks and the best prankster will be chosen as the winner. Sajid Khan and Cyrus will be judging the show where as Sandhya Mridul will be the host,” according to a TellyChakkar source.

The new series of ‘Bigg Boss’ is set to launch in early 2008.
