Sony TV to launch new dance reality show

After the success ZEE TV reaped from its dance reality show ‘Dance India Dance’, Sony Entertainment Television Asia too is hoping the same with its own version.

Production house Cineyug Entertainment has teamed up with the channel to bring viewers, a mega dance reality show called ‘Dance Premier League’.

According to sources, the programme is expected to launch in October, with auditions from six different regions of India commencing next week.

Furthermore, the channel is attempting to lure Bollywood superstar and dancing queen Madhuri Dixit Nene (pictured) to form a part of the judging panel. As well Madhuri, the programme is expected to see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan don the judge’s hat. If successful, this will be the first time viewers will see the two top actresses together on-screen since their magical dances in the movie ‘Devdas’ in 2002.

Apparently both Madhuri and Aishwarya have already expressed likeness to the show’s concept and are keen to being a part of the show. Ash has already started working on her dates.

Madhuri has previously hosted a show for Sony TV, however, it was rejected by the viewing public. ‘Shubh Vivaah’ aired on the channel in 2001.

Javed Jaffery or Arshad Warsi may step in for either of the actresses if the dates do not work out.

Choreographer Shiamak Davar has been confirmed as the third judge.

Actress Sara Khan of STAR Plus serial ‘Bidaai’ is likely to host the show along with Ejaz Khan.

‘Dance Premier League’ starts on Sony TV on Friday 9th October at 20:00.
