Sony TV spruces primetime with Balaji shows
Sony Entertainment Television Asia is strengthening its 22:00 – 23:00 one-hour band with the help of India’s leading production house, Balaji Telefilms.
Starting from Tuesday 6th October, ‘Bayttaab’ formerly known as ‘Betaab Dil Ki Tamanna Hai’ will air at 22:00, followed by ‘Pyaar Ka Bandhan’ at 22:30 (starting Wednesday 7th October).
Whilst the first show is much harder hitting based around the ongoing saga of Bollywood actor, Shiney Ahuja’s rape allegations, the second is much lighter with a backdrop of Delhi. The central theme of the property is ‘lost and found’ wherein the protagonist is a larger than life character.
The two Balaji shows will replace ‘Entertainment Ke Liye Aur Bhi Kuch Karega’, the one-hour show that was doing its second run on the channel.
“We are doing a variety of soaps and nobody can say that we are stuck with opulence and glamour,” says Balaji Telefilms head of TV content business Nachiket Pandvaidya.
