Sony TV shifts ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ to make way for ‘Dhadkan’

In an interesting change to its weekday schedule, Sony TV UK has confirmed that it is shifting the current season of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ to make way for medical series ‘Dhadkan: Zindaggi Kii’.

Starting from Monday 6th December, the Amitabh Bachchan hosted gameshow will move to 22:00, while ‘Dhadkan: Zindaggi Kii’ will launch in the 21:00 slot.

‘Dhadkan: Zindaggi Kii’ presents an inspiring story of Dr. Deepika’s journey, an independent woman who challenges patriarchy beginning right from her family, society and her workplace to fulfil her dreams. A major challenge in Dr. Deepika’s journey will be the character of Dr. Vikrant portrayed by actor Rohit Purohit.

The fiction marks the return of Purohit after a two-year hiatus. Talking about the series, he said, “Dr. Vikrant is an ambitious man who likes to have everything in control. Being brought up in a family with strong patriarchal values, Vikrant feels that a woman should focus on her family life rather pursuing a career or ambitions. Playing Vikrant has been quite a challenging experience as the character has multiple layers to him. This is very intense and different from what I have done before. I connect with the character on certain matters, especially his will to work hard and climb the ladder of success. But the other side where his male ego comes into the picture is unlike me. Dhadkan Zindaggi Kii has a powerful storyline revolving around gender disparity at workplace, that is not addressed frequently. And, as each character unfolds, the show will make the viewers think & converse about this pressing topic. I hope the audience loves our show and showers it with their blessings!”
