Sony MAX scoops exclusive UK/Europe rights of India V Sri Lanka cricket

Sony MAX has confirmed that it has acquired the exclusive UK and Europe TV rights of India’s tour of Sri Lanka taking place later this month.

The full tour consisting of three Tests, five One Day Internationals and a Twenty20, will take place from Wednesday 26th July in Galle. The second Test will take place in Colombo, while the third will be placed in Pallekele. One ODI is scheduled for Dambulla, and two each for Pallekele and Khettarama.

This is the first international rights deal for Sony Pictures Networks after it acquired Ten Sports in India. This will also be the first time that the series will air in HD on UK Asian television when Sony MAX HD goes on air officially from Tuesday 1st August.

The tournament will be given access to millions of homes, who subscribe to the Sky Original Pack. As revealed first on BizAsiaLive.com , Sony Entertainment Television, Sony MAX, Sony SAB and Sony MIX will be moving into the Sky Original Pack along with its rivals from Tuesday 1st August.
