Sony Entertainment Television Asia will be axing two fictions in April, BizAsia can confirm.

The channel, which is reworking its strategy and revamping its schedule, will be ending ‘Kehta Hain Dil…Jee Le Zara’ and ‘Desh Ki Beti…Nandini’ due to low viewing figures on Thursday 24th April. The reality TV show ‘Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega’ will take the Monday to Thursday at 21:00 slot once the two shows end.

Whilst both shows will remain on-air until end of April, the channel is also making other schedule tweaks. The popular ‘Bade Ache Lagte Hain’ will remain on-air despite rumours of it being axed. The show will, however broadcast only Monday – Wednesday. ‘Ek Nayi Pehchaan’ will run for 60-minutes every Monday in April, while ‘Maharana Pratap’ will air for 60-minutes on Thursdays.

There will be tweaks during the weekend schedule too. From Friday 11th April, ‘Adalat’ (20:00), ‘CID’ (22:00) and ‘Crime Patrol’ (23:00) will extend to Friday nights too. New show ‘Encounter’ hosted by Manoj Bajpayee will launch on the same day and will air Friday – Sunday at 21:00.

Updated: ‘Jee Le Zara’ has received a two-week extension, which means it will remain on-air until early-May.
