Sony TV acquires ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’

Sony Entertainment Television Asia has acquired the rights for this year’s blockbuster movie ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’.

Multi Screen Media, the parent company of Sony TV has reportedly forked out a huge Rs 180 million.

The comedy caper, which was released at cinemas last weekend stars Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. The movie collected Rs 225 million at the domestic box office in the opening weekend.

MAX senior EVP and business head Sneha Rajani confirmed the development but declined to comment on the acquisition price.

“We have acquired this movie because we believe it will do well and audiences will like it,” she said.
