Sony Entertainment Television Asia’s parent company, Multi Screen Media has inked a deal for four movie blockbusters including the superhit ‘The Dirty Picture’.

According to sources, the network has spent around Rs. 140 million for ‘The Dirty Picture’ alone but the channel is keeping tightlipped on acquisition prices.

The broadcaster, which runs flagship channel Sony TV, movies channel MAX, comedy channel SAB TV, English channel PIX and music channel MAX Mix has also bought the rights of unreleased movies ‘Talaash’ starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee and ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.

Furthermore, as part of its close liaison with Yash Raj Films, the channel will also broadcast ‘Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl’ starring Ranvir Singh and Anushka Sharma.

The war between channels has recently heated up with Star TV acquiring a huge library of big movies from rival, Colors, plus ZEE Network buying big premieres like ‘Don 2’, ‘Desi Boyz’ and ‘Agneepath’.
