Sony TV acquires new Dharma Productions films

Sony Entertainment Television Asia has bought the rights of Dharma Productions’ two upcoming releases ‘Student Of The Year’ and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’.

According to Economic Times, the broadcaster has paid Rs. 50 crore for the two films for an exclusive seven-year period.

The channel has bought the rights for several successful films including Krissh 3, Talaash, Rowdy Rathore, Paan Singh Tomar, Tezz, Ek Tha Tiger and Jab Tak Hai Jaan in the last two-three years. Its partnership with Dharma dates back to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

‘Student Of The Year’ releases later this month and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ in March 2013 at cinemas.
