Sony to show Indian Big Brother later this year

Sony Entertainment Television Asia has confirmed it will be telecasting a localised version of reality TV show Big Brother.

The Indian version of the programme will be Sony’s third Endemol production after Indian Idol (Pop Idol) and Fame Gurukul (Fame Acadmey).

The successes of Indian Idol and Fame Gurukul has made the channel ever more determined to concentrate on reality TV programming.

Whilst a date for Indian Big Brother has not been confirmed, it looks likely the channel could schedule the show during the summer period when Indian Idol and Fame Gurukul will be on their break.

Big Brother has proved a worldwide hit, which follows up to twelve members of the public living together in a house for 60 days with exclusion from the outside world.

Sony has also grabbed the rights of the popular Extreme Makeover show to be made in India and shown on its channel.
