Sony SAB TV signs deal for ‘Goodness Gracious Me’

'Goodness Gracious Me' to be aired on Sony SAB TV

Multi Screen Media has signed an exclusive deal to broadcast the previous three series of ‘Goodness Gracious Me’ on its Sony SAB TV channel.

The exclusive multi-year UK rights for the show include all three seasons, as well as specials. The broadcaster indicated that this is the first of several potential content deals with BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, with details yet to be disclosed.

Comprising of a young cast of stellar British Asian actors that have now gone on to become household names (Meera Syal, Nina Wadia, Kulvinder Ghir and Sanjeev Bhaskar), ‘Goodness Gracious Me’ was labelled as traditional British comedy with an Asian twist. The show is revered for its ingenuity and subtle comedy whilst altering mainstream perception by showing the integration between traditional Asian culture and modern British life.

At the height of its popularity, ‘Goodness Gracious Me’ was attracting millions of viewers regularly and won awards from the Royal Television Society and the Broadcasting Press Guild. The show is forever remembered for creating catchphrases which blended into everyday speech such as ��check please�۪ and ��kiss my chuddies�۪.

‘Goodness Gracious M’e will be aired weekly on Sony SAB TV from Sunday 17th March 2013, with multiple chances to watch the episode throughout the week.
