Sony pull plug on Indian version of ‘Kumars’

Sony Entertainment Television Asia has given up on its celebrity chat show ‘Kudkudiya House No 43’.

The programme, which is a re-adaption of the popular British show ‘Kumars At No. 42’ has undergone two revamps, both proving a turn-off for viewers.

The earlier edition of the programme saw a Parsi family called the Batliwallas in the forefront, they were then replaced with a Gujarati family called the Kudkudiyas.

Speaking to Mid-Day producer J D Majethia, of Hats Off Production said, “We tried everything, yet the show lacked something”. Along with writer Aatish Kapadia, J D had many brainstorming sessions to spruce up the show. We realised that something was definitely amiss and it was better to take it off-air.۝

The final episode of the show will air on Friday 3rd March.
